Syrian businessman Rami Makhlouf says that security forces have arrested employees of his companies

A prominent Syrian businessman, Rami Makhlouf, said that security forces began arresting employees of his multiple companies.

Makhlouf’s speech – who is the cousin of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad – came in a video clip that is his second in a matter of days.

In the last section, Makhlouf warned that if things continue as they are, they will lead to major problems.

Makhlouf addressed his speech to Assad, saying that the companies owned by him have always been loyal to the Syrian government throughout the nine-year war in the country.

So far, there has been no comment from the Syrian authorities on the video.

It is reported that Western officials accuse Rami Makhlouf of supporting Assad’s forces and profiting from the war in the country.
