The Egyptian authorities announce the killing of “18 terrorists” in an exchange of fire with the security forces in Sinai

The Egyptian security authorities announced the killing of “18 terrorists” in an exchange of fire with police forces in the city of Bir al-Abed in North Sinai Governorate, in the northeast of the country.

According to the statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of the Interior, the anti-terror forces raided “a hideout in which terrorist elements were planning to target the security forces” before the gunmen took the initiative to fire at the security forces, resulting in “the killing of 18 elements and the finding of 13 weapons and two explosive belts”

These developments come two days after the Egyptian army announced the killing and wounding of 10 of its members in an explosive device explosion in the same city, which was adopted by the Islamic State.
